The "G" Replaced at The Guild
April 14, 2009
Charlottetown – Following the disappearance of the signature “G” from The Guild’s foyer during March, the search has been relentless.
“Everywhere I go, everyone continues to ask, ‘Have you found your G?’ to which my reply has been ‘No’”, says Cate Proctor, Executive Director at The Guild.
Shortly after the G was taken, Proctor had a very kind offer from Lindsey MacAskill to replace the missing G with a newly constructed one. Mr. MacAskill is a local carpenter who takes on jobs from full house renovations, new construction to working inside sailboats and anything in between.
“After three weeks had passed, I gave up any hope of the missing G returning so I called Mr. MacAskill and took him up on his offer.”
Proctor introduced MacAskill during the recent Arts Mixer at The Guild and made sure people knew he was the donor not the bandit. “I wanted to make sure he got proper recognition for his generosity”, says Proctor. “His effort means a lot to us.”

Lindsey MacAskill and family provides a replica of the signature “G” to Cate Proctor, Executive Director, during the recent Arts Mixer at The Guild. The original “G” disappeared from The Guild’s foyer during March.
