Hawksley Workman/Jenn Grant Sept 27th
September 16, 2009

On September 27th Canadian singer/songwriter, Hawksley Workman makes his first ever appearance at The Guild promoting his latest album “Los Manlicious”, his second album released in 2008.

Juno-nominated Workman was given high profile during the awards broadcast in March, 2009 as he helped close out the broadcast with a feverish rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Gallows Pole".

In addition to being a sensation in the Canadian music scene, Hawksley Workman produced 2009 ECMA winner Hey Rosetta’s debut album “Into Your Lungs” which wasshortlisted for the Polaris Prize. He also wrote "Lazy Lovers" with/for Canadian Idol Theo Tams, earning airplay across the nation.

Popular PEI-born and raised singer/songwriter, Jenn Grant, is returning to the Maritimes to open all shows for the Atlantic leg of the Workman tour.

Grant has been busy promoting her latest album “Echoes” at folk and blues festivals as well as concerts throughout Canada this summer including participation at NXNW in Toronto.

Ticket sales have been very brisk and the show is expected to sell out very soon. Hawksley Workman and Jenn Grant play one-night only on September 27 at 8pm, with theatre doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets are $26 each and available at The Guild’s box office during regular box office hours, Tuesday-Saturday, 12noon-5pm.

For more information call the box office at 902-620-3333.

When asked if they would recommend The Guild, a patron from Murray River, PEI who was attending the Celtic Ladies show advised, "I like the size and intimacy of the theatre. I'm a first-time visitor". - July 2008
